Markers of the brains damage in patients with alcoholic delirium and their change after treatment

We studied the indexes of neurodestruction and neuroreparation in patients with alcoholic delirium (AD). We measured the concentrations in blood of myelin associated glycoprotein autoantibodies (antiMAG), neuron-specific enolase (NSE), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), ferritin, Shiff's bases, glutationperoxidase, glutationreductase and superoxide dismutase. It was revealed increase of antiMAG and NSE concentrations, great decrease of BDNF level, which depended on clinical gravity of AD. It was revealed activation of lipid peroxidation processes on background antioxidant defense and significant increase of ferritin concentrations in blood of patients with classic AD. After 14 days of standard treatment did not occur the full reduction of the revealed breaches.
