The ar ticle discusses the main directions of development of cultural andeducational tourism in modern economic conditions on the example of theNorth-West Federal District. The tourist potential of the regions is consideredin the context of the problems of promotion of cultural and educational tourismservices. Particular importance is paid to the promotion of these services bymeans of mobile applications, due to the incentive to the activity of users actingas relevant «stakeholders» of the territories. The article concludes that theNorth-West Federal District has various tourist and recreational resources, hasunique conditions for the development of tourist and recreational complexes,the potential of the tourist market must be used and worked on its development.
