Marketing as a small business development tool

The article draws conclusions about the importance of marketing for the development of small businesses in the modern world. For this purpose, statistical data from 2020 on the state of business in Russia, as well as data from 2017 on the use of marketing in campaigns, were considered. Every year, the share of companies that use marketing to one degree or another is growing, and is approaching 100%. These indicators are achieved due to the specifics of small businesses associated with high risks of closure and high efficiency of marketing for profit and counteraction to closure. The article discusses the reasons for closing a business and the reasons why marketing as a tool is most convenient for maintaining a business and developing it with the help of accumulated capital. The authors conclude that this tool is highly effective and has high risks for small businesses in Russia.
