Marketing as a field of professional activity

This article presents the concepts of “marketing” and “marketer”, indicates the relevance of the study. The main principles of modern marketing are named. The most demanded skills of a marketer are commented, the features of the profession are listed and key areas of work are named, and conclusions are drawn about the role of marketing in a person’s life. The authors of the article note that marketing, as a sphere of professional activity, in the current conditions of the formation of competitive and economic relations between various business entities often becomes a fundamental component of company management, which influences the formation of a potential growth in the value of a company and strengthening its competitiveness in the market of goods and services. If the marketing tools are not sufficiently developed, the company may face a significant reduction in the efficiency of managing financial flows invested in the business. In this regard, marketing, as a field of professional activity, which is aimed at meeting various kinds of needs for goods on the market, determines a number of areas in the field of organization, planning, monitoring in solving the most important tasks related to the development of the company. Given the importance of marketing as a professional activity, it is important to note that, on the one hand, it is aimed at studying the market for goods, the structure of needs and demand, and the degree of utility of goods. On the other hand, marketing demonstrates not only the company’s most active influence on market supply and demand, but also forms consumer preferences and needs.
