The article examines the basic conditions for the future development and most effective functioning of special economic zones of industrial production type (SEZ). The authors of the study pay special attention to the role and significance of the development of a marketing strategy for special economic zones in modern conditions using the example of the Lipetsk IP SEZ, since it is now that marketing promotion channels come to the fore and contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the domestic economy in the context of sanctions restrictions. The work presents the factors that ensure the implementation of integrated development of territories, and outlines the tasks facing federal and local authorities in the field of effective functioning of enterprises included in the SEZ.
