Masked (somatized) depression with alalgical syndrome in co-worker of IAD

We surveyed 72 patients with the syndrome of vegetative disorder and algic syndrome discovered for the first time. The diagnosis of masked depression was established with 60 patients. The leading algic variant of the masked depression was a combination of headache with cardialgia. The algic syndrome was characterized by polymorphous symptoms. In the persons who did not get antidepressant therapy the hypochondriac syndrome developed most frequently against the background of the combined headache with cardialgia variant of masked depression. Hypodiagnosis of the masked depression results in the increase of the number of «difficult patients» who have to be subjected to numerous unfounded and expensive examinations, they get a lengthy and most often not corresponding to the indications treatment.
