The article deals with the choice of the type of LED illumination of liquid crystal panels based on white LEDs. The application of various types of LED backlighting is considered, depending on the size of the liquid crystal panel, taking into account the light efficiency. The obtained mathematical models and algorithms allow to automate the process of choosing the type of LED illumination and the development of LED backlights with predicted lighting performance. There is an opportunity to promptly select elements for LED illumination with the required design parameters for a specific size of the liquid crystal panel at the initial stage of development.
