A mathematical model of the three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor

The basic equations are given; a structure chart of a mathematical model of a three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor is designed. This model allows to calculate the transient processes of an electric motor and electric drive taking into consideration a distributed winding, saturation and the eddy currents in stator and rotor teeth. The model was implemented with the use of MATLAB 6 software package. The transient curves of the across-the-line start of engine are given.
