On the basis of homologous series N.I. Vavilov's law the mathematical-statistical approach to the classification of attributes elements of plants is developed. These elements are formally expressed as frequency values of the integral parameter of compressed mappings system (Ip CMS). There are established general consistent patterns of frequencies, which characterize numerical values of Ip CMS. These characteristics of a set of indicators represent diversity within species, caused by different growing conditions for the representatives of one species. At sequential ordering of the parameters average values species-specific changes in the distribution of frequencies are observed. Prospect of applying the method to study intraspecific and interspecific variability of phenotypic attributes is presented by analyze of 3 wheatgrass species.
