Living conditions of people from Central Asia and Kazakhstan mobilized for labour in the enterprises and constructions of Ural in the years of the Great Patriotic War

The article analyses principal documents of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR, State Defense Committee, which determined the state policy in the sphere of material and domestic services for war workers. It considers the mul-ti-sided work of Ural party, labour and economic organizations on provision of living conditions for workers mobilized to defense enterprises and constructions from Central Asia and Kazakhstan during the war. The author focuses on the activity of regional authorities and enterprises’ leaders on acceptance, accommodation, provision of food, clothes, shoes, and articles of daily necessity for labour army members who were mobilized to defense enterprises of Ural. In the end the author makes a conclusion that in the hardest conditions of war period the Uralian people managed considerably to ease the living conditions of mobilized workers. The Kazakh, Turkmen, Uzbek and Kyrgyz workers made a great contribution to the common cause of victory over Fascist Germany.
