The sources of financing of Altai spiritual mission

The problems of the financial sources of Altai spiritual mission are studied in this article. Te structure of its income for more than 80 years of work is analyzed. Te special atention is paid to the great role the Orthodox missionary society and donators played in financing of the mission. In the second part of the XIX century the income of the mission of Altai based on funds of treasury, the Orthodox missionary society, and individual donations. Te main items of expenditure were linked with building of new churches and schools, providence of its employees with apartments and sources of subsistence. In the beginning of XX century Altai mission’s material provision was significantly complicated. Its revenues declined because of the inflation and disorder in the state afer the 1905 revolution. But expenditures increased. Tis situation was relieved only afer 1909 thanks to Metropolitan Makary (Nevsky). Funding from the Treasury, and individual donations was increased. But afer the 1917 revolution the state financing was discontinued. And few years later Altai spiritual mission lost all of its property.
