The paper analyses modern forms of representation of media discourse and the capacity of the reader to comprehend these forms, which can de developed through practices of interpretation and reflexivity. At the crossroads of digital media with their multimedia content and multimedia recourses created outside the realm of mass media (the latter being so modern and popular today) there emerge the new media. The paper raises a question of textual and cultural competencies in the education of such a specialist. The paper discusses the problem of the method of analysis in media communicative net discourse studies: what can augment discourse studies in this research. The paper discusses the opportunities for communication in social nets, types of connections in social nets and types of communication in social nets. The standard character of the social profiles makes them work as a large database for a great deal of structured data. This fact simplifies targeted search with specific criteria in social nets.
