Zamoskovny mountain district's medical infrastructure of factory settlements in the first half of the 19th century

In this article the formation of the factory settlements’ health maintenance of Zamoskovny mountain district in the first half of the 19th century is analyzed. Based on the class theory, the author pursues the aim to show that the formation of health maintenance happened under the pressure of the increasing class antagonism between the arising class of proletary represented by workmen of steel plants and the bourgeoisie. Using the materials of Moscow’s Central state archive and the Russian state historical archive, the author gives the comparative analysis of the state of health maintenance at the beginning and in the middle of the 19th century. As follows from the analysis of the actual material the author comes to a conclusion that emergence of rudiments of health maintenance and medical infrastructure within the factory settlements of Zamoskovny mountain district in the first half of the 19th century is inseparably connected with an aggravation of the class contradictions taking the form of workmen’ riots. For maintenance of system’s stability the nobility was forced to act as the arbitrator in this conflict. The nobility couldn’t limit the landowner right, however trying to smooth the conflict by means of regulation of the relations between plant owners and workers, they nevertheless promoted advance in the area under consideration.
