Health insurance for migrants as part of the state’s migration policy

The article examines the dynamics of the entry of foreign migrants into the Russian Federation after coronavirus restrictions. The article analyzes the legal requirements for migrants to obtain a health insurance policy, while identifying legislative restrictions and opportunities for further development of regulation of social protection of migrants. The analysis of the VHI product line for migrants is carried out, during which there is a rather low insurance coverage in the basic VHI programs. The conclusion is substantiated that informing migrants about the conditions of health insurance is one of the most important elements of the state’s migration policy. To ensure the social protection of migrant workers in Russia, it is necessary to improve existing insurance programs, expand access to medical care and improve the quality of services provided.
