The article deals with media risks arising during the communicative space transformation. On the basis of a working definition of media risk, its zones, risk subsystems, characteristic of different media conditions and in some cases requiring expert evaluation are singled out. The complex character of objects of linguistic examinations of media texts is substantiated. Discursive support and cognitive coordination are defined as interrelated trends. Words, ideas, texts are united as a single object of a risk character. This approach is conditioned by a combination of three attitudes: growing importance of complex explanatory settings; polyepistemic, interdisciplinary. This allows us to show that the communicative categoricity and semantic unreliability of the disputed texts correlate, forming a special "risk-based model". Communicative categoricity is defined as a means to compensate for a specific semantic unreliability. And semantic unreliability is characterized as a prerequisite for excessive communicative sharpness.
