The topical issue of the last decade is presented — migraine. Migraine is a type of headache lasting up to 72 hours and is often accompanied by nausea and is usually divided into two groups: migraine with aura and migraine without aura. The prevalence of migraine has only increased in recent years, which is due to many factors. The most common causes of migraine, types of migraine, and the pathophysiology of migraine are provided. In the development of migraine, a large role is given to hereditary nature, the second in line is a person's lifestyle — eating food with a high content of sodium glutamate, frequent lack of sleep, being in a non-ventilated room for a long time, all these risk factors lead to the development of migraine. The third reason for the development of migraine is the hormonal background in women during menstruation and menopause. In the treatment of migraine with medication, two groups of drugs are used: the first is NSAIDs for pain relief, the second is drugs from the triptan group.
