Medical-and-social aspects of organizing high-technology aid for patients with osteoarthrosis of large joints in the Ural region

The main medical-and-social aspects if organizing and developing high-technology surgical aid have been determined, the drawbacks of the aid have been revealed as well as the morbidity related to osteoarthrosis of large joints among the Ural region inhabitants (the Kurgan area and the Yamalo-Nenetsky autonomous district) has been studied within The International Bone and Joint Decade 2000-2010. The system of rendering patients with osteoarthrosis a specialized orthopaedic aid has been introduced into FSSI RISC "RTO", including complex diagnostics, conservative out-patient and in-patient treatment, surgical treatment of severe articular involvement using endoprosthetics, dispensary observation of the patients who have been treated and preventive work with the region population. Both the scientific-and-organization work on studying the articular morbidity and the development of all the aspects of the high-technology medical aid for patients with osteoarthrosis are necessary to reduce the osteoarthrosis-related morbidity, to improve health level and to maintain active longevity in the inhabitants of the Ural federal region.
