Madrasah being a vocational training institution in the provinces of pre-revolutionary Russia

The paper has carried out a review of historical studies exploring an issue of Muslim high schools, - madrassas being established in the regions of pre-revolutionary Russia (taking for instance Bashkiria). A review of works published has shown an extent to which this issue has been explored, in the fields of history and pedagogics. Selection of studies for the review was based upon the criteria that papers should consider madrassas for vocational schools. The paper pointed out some issues of educational strategy and concept development.
