Mechanism of generation of magnetospheric Pc3 pulsations - paradigm shift?

We advance a hypothesis that, contrary to generally accepted opinion, the source of Pc3 waves in the magnetosphere is not the foreshock region (FR), but the magnetosheath (MS). This is justified by synchronous observations of the wave activity at the satellite Interball (IB) and on the ground under changes of the IMF orientation.
