The mechanism of the influence of internal migration on the regional political process in Dagestan

The article considers such an important characteristic for understanding the nature of traditional societies with incomplete modernization, to which post-Soviet Dagestan belongs, as territoriality. The author discusses the factors that form a certain mechanism by which it is possible to assess the degree of influence of internal migration on the territoriality of the regional political process. The author relates to the characteristics, which form this mechanism, reduction of ethnic diversity in the lowland and foothill territories of the region while maintaining the mono-ethnicity of the highland area; weakening of official and updating community-based institutions of ethnic religious and criminal origin; transformation of the ethnic structure of political institutions in the localities.
