Food security mechanisms

The article substantiates the importance of state support for the agricultural sector as the main mechanism for ensuring food security. Budget subsidization of agricultural production is considered as a basic mechanism for supporting the agricultural sector. The role of sustainable functioning of the agro-food market in ensuring food security is characterized. Systematization of types of state support of agricultural commodity producers has been made. Indirect mechanisms of state support are characterized. The relative importance of various instruments of state support in the structure of expenditures of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation has been revealed.
