Mechanisms to identify and prevent corruption in sport

The article examines the problems associated with the spread of corruption in the world of sports, and offers solutions aimed at combating this negative phenomenon, taking into account the principle of organizational and legal autonomy of sports. In particular, two main approaches proposed by today’s practice of combating corruption in the field of sports are analyzed: first, interstate regulation aimed at preventing corruption in General, which is largely associated with the adoption of acts of international law, such as the Convention on criminal liability for corruption, and «point» aimed at combating corruption in sports - this direction is connected with the introduction of the so-called principle of good governance in the system of sports organizations, as well as the adoption of special acts, an example of which is the Convention of the Council of Europe against the manipulation of sports competitions; secondly, these are the so-called corporate norms, that is, the rules that contain local acts of organizations, primarily those that carry out today the management of the international sports and Olympic movement: international sports federations and the international Olympic Committee.
