The article analyses two trends of socio-cultural transformation taking place in the modern world - the socio-cultural unification and social privatization. The most important consequence of both trends is the inability to talk, which leads to the disintegration of social and cultural ties and promotes the degradation of the social origin. The destructive changes of mentality are presented as the cause of the society hermeneutic potential within the framework of postmodernism.
