The place and role of mass and communication media in the system of international relations

The paper considers the functions of mass and communication media imple-mented in the system of international relations. The analysis of the concept of international relations is given, as well as that of the media in terms of political science. Trends in changing the media functions from a means of sharing information to the subject of global politics are detected. The prerequisites of the emergence of the Internet-based technologies are revealed that led to the increased impact on the world arena in terms of achieving regional and global geopolitical goals.
