The place of everyday life in rational culture

Rationality of thought and action is one of the main values of modern culture. Having penetrated into all spheres of society, it determines not only science, art, law, economics, politics, but also the daily life of a person. Any cognitive and practical action is evaluated through the prism of its validity by reason. Until recently, everyday life was attributed to the irrational spheres of culture and its importance was belittled. The situation changed when the scientific community recognized the need to expand the meanings and boundaries of rationality. The emerging concept of everyday rationality allowed us to legitimize everyday life as an independent sphere of rational culture. In this regard, it seems appropriate to determine the place and role of everyday life in the process of rationalization of culture and to clarify the degree of its influence on scientific and technological progress.
