The place of cardiovascular diseases in the death rate structure of Аrmavir in the prerevolutionary period

The article deals with the structure of Armavir population's death rate. The author discusses the heart diseases that were registered among village residents, analyzes the causes of death. The number of recorded deaths from various cardiovascular diseases is reviewed. It has been found that cardiovascular diseases ranked second in the structure of adult mortality (after the infectious diseases). The reasons of such a high level of mortality from cardiovascular diseases are described (insufficient health literacy of the population, small number of medical professionals and medical institutions, sporadic nature of disease prevention measures, etc.).
