Water metaphor as a means of scientific knowledge representation

The article studies the mechanism of metaphorization involving concept WATER as the source structure; the analysis of the alternative energy empirical material texts demonstrates the lexical representations and functions of conceptual metaphor AN ENTITY IS WATER in the Russian and English languages as well as outlines the models of scientific phenomena understanding in terms of water metaphor, which are typical of the Russian and English scientific community.
