Metafiction as author’s self-reflection in modern artistic culture of the Buryat

The article reviews the manifestation of metafiction phenomenon in the texts of contemporary artistic culture of Buryatia - a kind of the author’s self-identification in the image of autobiographical character. Metafiction features can be found not only in literary texts, but also in painting. On the material of prose by G. Bashkuev and painting by Z. Dorzhiev metafiction is reviewed as a curious phenomenon in the Buryat culture. The author analyzes the stories "Little War" (2001) and "The notes of older boy" (2007) by G. Bashkuev, the works of Z. Dorzhiev of the 2000s and his unconventional project "Zorik book. Artist's Book of Zorikto Dorzhiev" (2011) which are the most interesting material for researching the realization of self-reflexive text potential.
