In order to ensure correct conditions when monitoring the magnetic susceptibility of particles in magnetometers of ponderomotive and/or magnetic rheological types, the step of identification the working (executive) zone for such monitoring is especially important. In this regard, a new method has been proposed for identifying this zone, a distinctive feature of which is the use (for diagnosing the field between the pole pieces) of a spherical ferrosonde sensor that perceives the effect of magnetic force F at a distance x from the center distance of the pole pieces in a certain (along the line of action of magnetic force) direction.
