S-O-S method: communication management of large-scale projects

The features of communication management of large-scale projects using the S-O-S method (S-strategy, O-organizational environment, S-system approach) are shown. Communication management is allocated in a special module, the objectives of this module are reflected. Communication management processes are differentiated into initial and ongoing ones. It is proposed to structure the current processes in accordance with the specifics of a project-oriented enterprise. Approaches to identifying project stakeholders are presented, and a standard list of stakeholders for a large-scale project has been developed. The methods of their prioritization and involvement in the project are defined. The relationship between project marketing and communication management is analyzed. Continuous reporting is considered as a part of communication management. The roles and functions within the framework of communication management are investigated. An approach to evaluating the effectiveness of communication management is described. Conclusions are drawn about the role of communication management in the management of large-scale projects.
