Methodological approaches to the protection of archaeological sites of the Tom river region from biological damage

The article summarizes the main methodological approaches to the protection of archaeological sites along the Tom River from biological damage. Biocidal compounds are used mainly to combat fungi, algae and bacteria. The effectiveness of the antimicrobial action depends not only on the correct choice of biocide, but also on the method and processing conditions. Based on experimental data, the prospects of the technique for removing lichen from the surface of a stone using alkaline solutions (NaOH) have been demonstrated.
