Тhe method for creating of authority data for the database "Authority file of names of scientific institutions of the agricultural and industrial complex " is рresented. It is generated by Central Scientific Agricultural Library. The database format provides information about history, publishing activity and research publications of an institution. The proposed methodical solutions let us to trace the continuity during domestic science reforming.
