A method for teaching foreign students writing a composition for admission to Russian higher education institutions

The article deals with the problem of training students of the preparatory department to take the entrance exams determined according to the university regulations. One of the most difficult problems for the teacher is to teach the students how to write a composition, which is necessarily present in one or another form in the introductory tests. At the same time, the requirements for the first certification level of knowledge of Russian as a foreign language include the creation of a formalized text (statements, memos, postcards, personal letters) based on the lexical minimum and the scope of a lexical topic. The authors of the article suggest a system of methods and techniques for teaching writing a composition in the framework of traditional teaching of Russian as a foreign language in preparatory departments. Continuity of methodical actions for skill training is traced from popular textbooks of elementary, basic and first certification levels to the author's method of working with artistic texts, the effectiveness of which is confirmed by the results of entrance tests.
