Methodology of assessing the efficiency of government agencies

The article proposes new approaches to assessing the effectiveness of government agencies as economic entities. The article is aimed at the formation of summary indicators to assess the typical functional activities of state bodies and indicators of the effectiveness of the implementation of budgetary powers and budgetary procedures of authorities. The author’s approach is to assess the activities of government agencies as an economic entity and as a subject of the budget process. The expediency of creating a unified methodological approach to evaluating the activities of public authorities in order to increase the efficiency of the public sector, in particular public authorities, as administrators and chief managers of budget funds, and reduce the cost of implementing business processes within institutions is substantiated. The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that the results obtained can be used to create a unified methodological approach to evaluating the effectiveness of government agencies. The resulting system of indicator indicators operates on the basis of indicator matrices using criteria conditions for the formation of a point estimate of the value of each calculated indicator and a comprehensive integrated assessment of the final indicator when evaluating the effectiveness of economic entities in the public sector.
