A technique for assessment of contractile ability of leg muscles in female patients with diseases of the locomotor system

210 normal girls at the age of 7-15 years and also 75 children and adolescents at the age of 6-16 years with 3-12 cm growth retardation of one of their limbs were examined before and after surgical lengthening according to Ilizarov. The plots of the age dynamics of the muscular force maximal moment, correlated with body mass, in foot plantar flexors are presented. The dyamometric indices of muscular foot plantar flexors in the intact limb and those in normal girls at the age of 7-15 years are practically the same and they increase with age up to 1,6 H*m/kg, while those in the involved limb - up to 1,3 Н*м/кг. After surgical limb lengthening the increase up to 0,9 Н*м/кг is noted.
