Setting the task (relevance of the work). The relevance of the research is determined by the need to take into account the infl uence of external environmental factors on the sustainability of an industrial enterprise, identify new factors, and also determine local and integral indicators of the sustainability of the production infrastructure as a key system-forming element of the enterprise. The aim of the work is to improve the quality of assessment of the sustainability of the production infrastructure under the infl uence of negative external environmental factors. The methods used. The methodology for assessing sustainable development and developing indicators for monitoring sustainable development, quality management, and lean manufacturing methods. Research hypothesis: improvement of the quality of assessing the stability of the production infrastructure under the infl uence of negative external environmental factors is achieved: based on the classifi cation and ranking of external environmental factors; using the developed methodology for assessing the stability of the production infrastructure of an industrial enterprise. In the course of the work, the following scientifi c results were obtained: external environmental factors of the production infrastructure were identifi ed: technogenic stability, which determines the resistance of the industrial infrastructure of an industrial enterprise to the negative effects of external environmental factors of a technological nature; an innovative factor showing how the introduction of innovative technologies in the concepts of “Industry 4.0” and “Smart Manufacturing” affect the increase (decrease) in the stability of the production infrastructure; a methodology for assessing the sustainability of the production infrastructure to ensure the quality of processes for increasing the sustainability of an industrial enterprise, developed on the basis of classifi cation and ranking of external environmental factors.
