Methodology for reducing the noise of power transformers on workers of organizations

The influence of noise from electric power generation devices negatively affects the health and psychophysical condition of workers in energy facilities at processing enterprises of the agro-industrial complex, railway transport and enterprises in other industries. This leads to occupational diseases, weakening of attention and absent-mindedness when performing work, which increases the likelihood of accidents at these enterprises. The transformer noise is of a constant monotonous nature, the tonality of which changes depending on the load and the asymmetry of the loading phase load; the negative impact of the transformer noise is especially evident at night. There have been analyzed the main causes of noise in power transformers, which are associated with damage to the main structures of power transformers and late diagnosis of the condition. It has been established that transformers in operation have a service life that exceeds the one established by the manufacturer. There have been identified main sources of noise in power transformers, caused by magnetostriction, as well as the forced cooling system and the depressurization of the windings of power transformers. The purpose of this study is to develop methods for calculating the noise level of power transformers in order to select a protective shield. The propose of the study is to develop a methodology that allows one to calculate the amount of sound pressure affecting workers at operating and repair enterprises. The obtained sound pressure dependencies make it possible to take into account the fence of power transformers, taking into account the passage of sound waves through obstacles. To reduce the effect of sound pressure from power transformers on enterprise workers, it is proposed to use protective screens made of polycarbonate. The choice of protective screens can be made taking into account the power of power transformers, which will reduce the level of negative effect of constant sound pressure on enterprise workers.
