Methods of assessing the economic efficiency of modern regional development

Economic development is a complex indicator, the formation of which depends on many factors, which take into account both the pace of scientific and technological development and the influence of political events. The purpose of this study is to analyze popular models for assessing the economic efficiency of regional development today, with further forecasting changes in the structure of the analysis to update it for modern problems and needs. In this work, the methods of induction, mathematical analysis, synthesis, contrast and comparison were used. The works of domestic and foreign economists were used as reference material. As a result of the study, popular models of regional development were studied, modern trends in scientific and technological development, external political and internal problems were identified. The increased influence of digital technologies on the development of the regional economy was revealed, as well as a significant change in approaches to defining the goals of regional development, which had a greater emphasis on covering national tasks, especially in the western part of the country. The scope of this study extends to administrative regional centers and local governments to obtain high-quality and accurate results. The method of using the data obtained may extend beyond the Russian Federation, thereby allowing for a comparative assessment and a comprehensive assessment of regions using a single system that not only differ in their affiliation with countries in the world, but also in their internal economic and social characteristics.
