The article discusses the methodological emphasis on the competitiveness of nuclear energy, in order to identify ways to determine the competitiveness of nuclear energy in the global nuclear energy market. The development of the competitiveness of nuclear energy is one of the priority areas of the country’s economic development. That is why it is necessary to study the competitiveness methodology. A methodological review of two types of markets is proposed: perfect and imperfect competition. In the work, the method of intertheoretical transduction is used, which allows to identify methodological problems. In addition, using the passage to the limit, the article shows how to move from one theory of market competition to another, at the expense of which indicators it is fulfilled. The passage to the limit allows us to assess the risks in this market and to determine the entry and exit barriers from this market. Assessing the level of one or another market constraint plays an important role in creating an economic development strategy. This study is relevant because the market may be a mixture of a perfect and imperfect competitive environment. In the course of the work, an analysis was made of various theories of perfect and imperfect competition. The author’s definition of the competitiveness of nuclear energy is proposed.
