An example of combining two typological schemes for vegetation of the Murmansk region is given. Both typologies are based on many years of field research, taking into account the landscape structure that defines the natural diversity of habitats of vegetation. First, the typology of biotopes in the primary groups of elementary landscapes, is proposed for old-growth forests on the basis of ecological-floristic classification, the second to cover the central part of the Murmansk region on the basis of the dominant approach and includes secondary of man-made serial communities.
