The article deals with the problems of methodology of modern aesthetics within the context of human sciences, fixes the meaning of the multifaceted approach for specifying the subject of aesthetics, appoints its difference from philosophy of art, rationalizes the importance of ontological approach to the aesthetic in all fields of existence.
