Methodological conditions of studying the problems of human fulfillment in the modern urban environment

Research of the human capabilities is usually carried out in the context of the “capability approach" of A. Sen. However, this theory has a number of essential limitations due to which it is almost impossible to carry out an empiric research concerning the issue. Criteria of human capabilities assessment under A. Sen’s approach are hardly verified and sufficiently abstract. Therefore, the authors substantiate the need for supplement of A. Sen and his followers’ approach with the city sociology and constructivism, as well as define the relevant spheres of studying the human fulfillment in the modern city.
