The methodological principle of geometrization of classical physics

From the historical perspective the article discusses some philosophical questions concerned with geometrization of physical theories. The author substantiates the position that the unity of the mathematical apparatus of physical theory and its interpretation is a reflection of the principle of unity of the physical picture of the world. At the present stage of natural science development, the geometrization acts as methodological principle. The topicality of the article is determined by the rapid development of ideas about the physical vacuum and the dark material in the astrophysics.
