Methodology of research programs of I. Lakatos and T. Kuhn

The article analyzes one of the main works of Imre Lakatos (1922-1974) - "Falsification and methodology of research programs", summarizing his philosophical and methodological ideas. The article critically examines the views of one of the prominent representatives of the post-positivist philosophy of the twentieth century, I. Lakatos, in the field of logic and methodology of scientific cognition. It is shown that an important place in it is occupied by the analysis of the growth of knowledge, which is considered by the thinker.
