The article discusses the concept of price discrimination, the possibility of its use as an element of price competition. The types of price discrimination are considered: perfect discrimination, price discrimination of the second degree, price discrimination of the third degree and ways to overcome price discrimination. The article also highlights the concept of Pareto-efficiency in a monopoly. In conclusion, the conditions for achieving Pareto efficiency are considered.
