Modern business processes require increasingly complex and adaptive approaches to management and optimization. In a rapidly changing market and increasing competition, companies strive to use resources as effi ciently as possible, reduce costs and improve product quality. One of the key areas in this area is functional and network modeling, which allows you to visualize, analyze and optimize processes at different levels. This article discusses the methods of functional and network modeling using the example of a business process for the production of expanded polystyrene - one of the important building materials used in various industries. Expanded polystyrene, with excellent thermal insulation properties and lightness, has become an integral part of modern construction. However, its production is associated with a number of complex stages that require careful coordination and management. The use of functional and network modeling methods allows not only to analyze current processes, but also to identify bottlenecks, optimize resources, and predict the results of various scenarios. The article will present the main approaches to modeling, their advantages and disadvantages, as well as examples of application in the context of expanded polystyrene production. We hope that the results obtained will be useful not only for specialists in the fi eld of production process management, but also for a wide audience interested in the issues of business process optimization in the conditions of the modern economy. When analyzing any enterprise, you constantly encounter problems of clear interpretation of the foundations of all processes that are directly related to production and technical processes and their improvement. Business modeling tools are crucial for the development and implementation of successful business models.
