This article is devoted to the analysis of PET imports to the Russian Federation for 2023 and the identification of threats of a possible shortage of PET brands in 2024, produced in the Kaliningrad region, due to hostilities in the Red Sea. The technology of PET production was considered, the capacity for its production was reviewed, the main segments of its consumption were considered. The article provides an up-to-date blot analysis of PET brands imported into Russia for 12 months of 2023, indicates the physicochemical indicators of each brand and determines the degree of influence of these brands on the domestic market. The share of countries in the total import of polyethylene terephthalate for 12 months of 2024 has been calculated. Options are proposed to reduce the risk of a possible PETP deficit, taking into account the current geopolitical situation.
