Methods of research in the Russian historical studies in the late 20th - the early 21st century

The development of Russian historical thought at the turn of the 20th - 21st centuries is characterized by the need for a theoretical understanding of the methods of research used in historical studies. During this period the historians have done a lot of work on the classification of general scientific and special-historical methods. The key issue for the national historical science of the time was the qualitative rethinking of a number of its central theoretical and methodological guidelines. The comprehensive use of the theoretical and methodological methods indicated in this article plays an important role in the analysis of all-Russian patterns and specific historical plots in the history of Russia from the ancient times to the present.
