Polypous rhinosinusitis (PR) among inflammatory diseases of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses (SNP) is one of the most urgent problems of modern rhinology. In recent years, there has been an increase in the proportion of this disease in the structure of the pathology of the nose and paranasal sinuses. This is due to changes in the environmental situation, an increase in the number of bacterial, viral and occupational pathogenic factors. Clinical manifestations of chronic nasal disease are present in approximately 3%, and according to some reports, in 5% of the population. A long examination and observation by related specialists, on the one hand, allows a comprehensive assessment of the patient's somatic status, on the other hand, in our opinion, increases the period required for diagnosis, and leads to a significant increase in the prevalence of subclinical forms of this disease. ORS has quite significant medical and social significance, which is confirmed by the prevalence of the disease, a tendency to relapse, the need for therapeutic, rehabilitation and social activities for a significant period of the patients' life. In view of the foregoing, this justifies the appearance of the term “complex rhinosinusitis.”
