Methods of research of monuments and traditions of Ural old believers in icon painting in Russian historiography

The analysis of the methods used during research of monuments and traditions of Ural Old Believers in icon painting in Russian historiography starting from 70s of the 20 century is given in the article. The author concludes that theoretical and methodological bases of research of Old Russian icon paintings monuments and traditions of Ural should be built on the interdisciplinary approach combining both art and historic analysis.
